Deep azure-blue blades and granules of Linarite occur embedded in a Malachite impregnated block of vein Quartz from Red Gill mine in Swinburn Gill, a tributary of Roughton Gill, in the Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria.  Translucent blue bladed crystals with chisel-shaped terminations to 5 x 5 x 0.5 mm sit adjacent to a patch of velvety, pale peppermint green Malachite.  Red Gill mine is one of just a few classic British localities for Linarite.
