Sharp, beautifully crystallised colourless Quartz crystals, variety Rock Crystal, form a spectacular off-matrix group with gemmy, water-clear crystals radiating out in all directions.  Many of the crystals have asymmetric terminations of the Dauphiné habit, especially the most dominant crystal which measures 5.8 cm long from where it disappears into the crystal group.  All the crystals are completely transparent except for the largest, this having a cloudy, milky lower half with a gemmy top section.  A beautiful example of Rock Crystal Quartz from Diamantina in the Jequitinhonha Valley of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
