Sharp, beautifully crystallised colourless Quartz crystals, variety Rock Crystal, form a spectacular off-matrix group with gemmy, water-clear crystals radiating out in all directions.  Many of the crystals have asymmetric terminations of the DauphinĂ© habit, especially the most dominant crystal which measures 5.8 cm long from where it disappears into the crystal group.  All the crystals are completely transparent except for the largest, this having a cloudy, milky lower half with a gemmy top section.  A beautiful example of Rock Crystal Quartz from Diamantina in the Jequitinhonha Valley of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
