This beautifully coloured interpenetrant Fluorite twin is from the West String, No. 1 Level of Greenbank Vein at Rogerley mine and was collected during the 1980s. It comes with a Patricia Greenbank label (PG 321) which are always well annotated. Rogerley mine was operated by Patricia, her husband Lindsay and partners Michael and Brenda Sutcliffe and is situated to the west of Frosterley in Weardale, County Durham, England. Weardale lies in the North Pennine Orefield, underlain by the North Pennine Batholith and the Weardale pluton. The larger crystal measures 2 x 2 x 2.5 cm. The prisms are gemmy to translucent leafy emerald green and under LWUV fluoresces bright lavender.
