A bright metallic yellow specimen of intergrown cubic Pyrite crystals measuring to 1.4 cm on a Quartz-Fluorite matrix from Blackdene mine in Weardale.  It is noted this specimen was probably mined in about 1970.  This is a terrific example from this historic mine, one of the oldest lead mines in County Durham dating to the early 15th century.  This large miniature comes with three labels, one a Richard Barstow green stock label.
