Fine, acicular divergent bundles of deep carmine red Kermesite measuring to 1 cm occupy areas of an elongated Quartz lined cavity with well-formed terminated crystals of lead-grey Stibnite, again in divergent splayed clusters. An additional 10 x 5 mm richly lined cavity containing both species is on the reverse of the specimen. As the label indicates, it has been suggested this specimen contains the antimony-arsenic sulphide Pääkkönenite within these vugs, but this requires analysis and research. Present or not, this remains a terrific example of Kermesite with Stibnite from Bräunsdorf in the Freiberg Mining District of Saxony, Germany.
