Crednerite

ID: CC13282
Black platy crystals of the copper-manganese oxide, Crednerite, are intermixed with black sooty manganese oxides from a manganese pod with included platy white Calcite.  This specimen is from the famous Torr Works quarry at Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet in Somerset, England; more commonly known to collectors as Merehead quarry.  The Crednerite blades are up to 3 mm in length and stand out from the manganese rich matrix because of their bright lustre.
