A well-formed radial cluster of lustrous black acicular Cronstedtite crystals measuring to 8 mm are nestled in a cavity lined with crystallised Quartz, brown Siderite and yellowish Goethite. Several smaller vughs also contain Cronstedtite crystals, all in a characteristic Quartz veinstone for Wheal Jane mine at Baldhu, Kea, in Cornwall, England. This mine was a little to the west of Cornwall’s cathedral city and county town, Truro. Areas of very dark green Chlorite; metallic golden Pyrite and Chalcopyrite and reddish granular Siderite are also in present. Cronstedtite, an iron silicate, is a mineral particularly associated with Wheal Jane.
