If you have been looking for something unusual from the famous Heights quarry at Westgate in Weardale, or even Weardale in general, then this specimen of mixed green and purple Fluorite crystals is just the ticket! This good-size cabinet specimen is a solid mass of crystallised Fluorite, principally a blueish sea-green, with crystals ranging from 0.5 to 1 cm cubes only interrupted by several large, elongated crystals averaging 5 x 5 x 3 cm. at one end of the specimen’s base a single 2.2 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm crystal decides on becoming colourless-light grey zones with lavender bands and on the base itself, are two large, part elongated cubes up to 4.5 cm of translucent lavender. All the crystals have a waxy lustre and in direct sunlight the corners and edges of the green crystals fluoresce lavender and pale lilac. Under LWUV the entire specimen fluoresces bright lilac-white.
