Pharmacosiderite is a hydrated basic ferric arsenate whose type locality is the nearby Wheal Gorland. The St Day United Mines lay just a little east of Wheal Gorland, Unity and Muttrall and incorporated old mines such as Poldice and Crofthandy. This small miniature is a typical gossan ore, rich in dark-grey to black tarnished sulphides, whose vuggy surfaces are entirely lined with deep apple-green cubic crystals of Pharmacosiderite. A nice, rich specimen from this, probably the most famous mining district in Cornwall.
