This semi-transparent to translucent pale lilac Fluorite is a stunning interpenetrant twin from the West Cross Vein in Heights Quarry at Eastgate in the Weardale Valley, County Durham.  Attached to the most minute sliver of grey matrix, the twin is highly unique because one crystal has developed as a perfect tabular flattened cube while the other twin is a normal cube with edges of equal length.  The tabular crystal measures 3.0 x 2.8 x 1.4 cm and is an excellent example of this somewhat rare habit.
