Ferberite pseudomorph after Scheelite

ID: CC13761
A relatively large pseudomorph of Ferberite after Scheelite nestles amongst a bed of milky Quartz crystals from the Hingston Down quarry near to Gunnislake in Cornwall, England.  The upper four faces of an octahedral crystal are formed from micro acicular black Ferberite crystals, with the maximum dimensions reaching 1.6 cm tall by 1.8 cm broad at its base. An excellent example from this locality.
