A rare and good example of an octahedral Quartz pseudomorph after Fluorite from Furzehill mine at Bere Alston, Tavistock, Devon; also known as East Tamar mine or East Tamar Consols.  The pseudomorph comprises the upper half of an octahedral crystal and this is sat at an angle to the enclosing Quartz matrix. Due to this angle, the various edges ad faces are of differing size, but the longest edge measures 2 cm.  Both pseudomorph and matrix are a characteristic creamy tan.  An excellent Quartz pseudomorph after Fluorite from this interesting locality.
