A small miniature mound of opaque snow-white Baryte forming a feathered array of small crystals with a matt to silky lustre. From Settlingstones mine in Northumberland, England, a little to the north-west of Hexham. This delicate looking Baryte has a resemblance to Flos Ferri, the acicular, branching variety of aragonite. Settlingstones mine was originally worked for lead but in more recent years became a major producer of Witherite.
