A super specimen of nicely crystallised octahedral Cuprite, richly distributed throughout a vuggy and porous Quartz veinstone matrix.  From Phoenix United mine by the village of Minions in north Cornwall, the Cuprite occurs as perfectly formed octahedra of 1 to 3 mm on edge and varying between bright lustrous metallic brick red to a velvety matt crimson-red.  A choice, characteristic example and very well-priced Cuprite from the famous Phoenix United mine.
