An interesting artefact from the heyday of Cornish mining.  A 6.5 x 1.3 cm diameter glass tube filled with finely ground Cassiterite concentrate and contained within by tightly fitting cork stoppers at each end.  The crushed Cassiterite gravel ranges from about 0.5 o 2 mm and would likely have been milled to a much finer grain size prior to smelting.  A great bit of Cornish mining history.
