Mendipite with Chloroxiphite, Symesite and Diaboleite

ID: CC14056
A potpourri of rare mineralogical delights from the famous Torr Works quarry (aka Merehead quarry) at Cranmore in Somerset, England.  This small miniature is composed mainly of Mendipite, a lead oxychloride, as compact long platy crystals of pinkish-white.  Within the Mendipite structure can be seen olive-green acicular Chloroxiphite (lead copper halide); a pale pink patch of Symesite (lead oxychloride) and very tiny spots of pale greenish-blue Diaboleite (lead-copper oxychloride).  Not mentioned on the original label are a few patches of pale lemon-yellow Paralaurionite (lead chloride).
