This beautiful thumbnail of intense lemon-yellow Fluorite requires little introduction as from Hilton mine in Scordale, Cumbria, England.  This iconic Northern England mine sits immediately below the Whin Sill, a large dolerite intrusion which traverses the counties of Cumbria, Northumberland, and Durham, of late Carboniferous-early Permian age.  Gemmy deep lemon Fluorite crystals to 1.4 cm on their longest face form a tightly-packed off-matrix cluster.  A lovely and particularly good thumbnail example.
