Chlorite after Baryte on Quartz
ID:
CC14352
Greyish-olive green pseudomorphs of Chlorite after Baryte to around 5 mm, scattered over a group of slanting, stubby Quartz crystals, all entirely coated with micro-granular light brick-red Hematite. The Quartz crystals comprise of just terminations, with the prism sections completely missing; a habit of Quartz observed in many localities throughout Cornwall, including Wheal Gorland. A compact and rather charming specimen of Chlorite after Baryte on an aesthetic Quartz group from Geevor mine at Pendeen, St. Just, Cornwall, England.
