Cassiterite

ID: CC14479
A group of colourless acicular Quartz crystals overgrown by light biscuit-tan granular Cassiterite from Wheal Primrose, part of the West Wheal Kitty group of mines at St Agnes in Cornwall.  This habit of Cassiterite is very seldom seen and appears to form hollow epimorphs from some previous unknown stage in the paragenesis.  A terrific and rare form of Cassiterite from Cornwall.
