Alamosite

ID: CC14517
Alamosite is a rare lead inosilicate which forms sprays and platy colourless to white crystals at Tsumeb. This example is a 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.2 cm part crystal, kept secure and displayed in a small flat Perky box with hinged lid and clasp. When looking at the accompanying photo please look for the Alamosite plate near the centre of the case because at first glance the box appears to be filled with fine granular material. This is the effect of the expanded foam within the box, producing a black and white speckled surface!
