A very rich specimen of the rare mineral Bannisterite from the Broken Hill Mining District of New South Wales, Australia. Stacked plates of jet-black Bannisterite form an approximately 4 x 3  x 2.5 cm block with a mica-like morphology attached to a granular dull pink mottled black matrix. An excellent example of Bannisterite from Broken Hill, Australia.
