An excellent elongated bed of velvety mid-emerald to very dark green Malachite completely replacing Azurite crystals of 2 to 4 cm tall.  This is a superb pseudomorph from the Kolwezi District in the Katanga Copper Crescent of the DRC (formerly Zaire) over which a secondary coating of sub-millimetre acicular Malachite has formed giving the entire specimen a velvet-like silky sheen. The contrast between the light and dark shades of Malachite help emphasise the shape of the pseudomorphed Azurite crystals.  A beautiful Malachite pseudomorph after Azurite from the Katanga Copper Crescent.
