A showy specimen of beautiful and complexly developed Fluorapatite crystals set amongst gemmy Quartz crystals from the Panasqueira mine at Covilhã in Portugal. The four main Fluorapatite crystals form a partly-intergrown cluster which is set between the Quartz crystals but not masked by them. The Fluorapatites occur as hexagonal tabular hexagonal prisms with a bevelled edge around each pinacoid face and measure up to 3.0 x 2.0 x 0.9 cm. The crystals are zoned, having grey-blue edges and grey-colourless centres. An orange-tan blade of Siderite sits on one Quartz crystal. A great Fluorapatite from the famous Panasqueira mine.
