Spessartine with Quartz (Garnet Group)

ID: CC15183
An impressive creamy granitic plate rich in Microcline Feldspar with a number of beautiful and highly lustrous Smoky Quartz crystals.  Surrounding these are brilliant orange Spessartine garnet crystals from the modern classic locality of Tongbei in Yunxiao County, Fujian, China.  These specimens were first discovered about twenty years ago and instantly became modern classics.  The perfectly terminated Quartz crystals have a mirror-like lustre and contrast wonderfully with the many dozens of 1 to 2 mm diameter trapezohedron Spessartine crystals with dodecahedral modifications.  A fantastic small cabinet specimen of Smoky Quartz, Spessartine and Microcline.
