Calcite

A fabulous Calcite that packs a big wow factor! From the Sarbaiskoe deposit at Rudny in Kazakhstan, five magnificent intergrown and modified rhombic Calcite crystals sit on a tiny, almost hidden grey-granular matrix fringed with mm crystals of a snow-white zeolite mineral, most likely Stilbite or Stellerite. The Calcite crystals vary in size from 2 cm to over 4 cm on edge and are of a uniform and pleasing pale honey-lemon-tan. All crystals are transparent; they have gently cured faces with modified prism edges and a slightly waxy to a dull silky lustre. A beautiful Calcite from Kazakhstan.
