Yet another Tsumeb specimen which strikes you as that something a little bit different. An approximately 4 x 2 cm shallow cavity in a delicate shell-like geode of granular orange cream Dolomite is lined with beautiful gemmy, bright azure blue Azurite crystals with a 9 x 5 mm glassy, slightly milky Cerussite crystal sat in the centre. The Azurite forms as excellent gemmy acicular, needle-like crystals which, due to their transparency and small size, readily transmit any light falling on the specimen and so naturally displaying the true vibrant blue of Azurite. Although very tiny (sub-millimetre), a small cluster of deep leaf green Conichalcite spheres nestle in the Azurite at one point. A delightful Tsumeb Azurite miniature.
