Tsumcorite

ID: CC15508
A beautiful rich specimen of rare Tsumcorite from its type locality at the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Tsumcorite, named for the TSUMeb CORporation, was discovered in 1971 in the 2nd Oxidation Zone, but examination of old specimens showed it to be present on specimens recovered during the 1920s.  On this superb miniature an excellent druse of lemon-mustard acicular Tsumcorite covers much of the specimen, with distinctive micro-crystals apparent under a lens.  Prismatic crystals of Quartz, lightly dusted with a powdery apricot orange mineral, are occasionally present.  This is a terrifically crystallised and very rich Tsumcorite, making it a competitively priced fine example.
