Although Pyrite was very common throughout the Tsumeb orebody, specimen quality material was relatively rare and not that many specimens are to be seen in collections.  This small miniature / large thumbnail is composed of golden brassy pyritohedral crystals up to about 3 mm in a sintered-like mass with visible porosity between the individual crystals.  These are attached to a matt, sooty black matrix, which is also lightly dusted across some of the Pyrite crystals.
