Although Brochantite was common in the upper levels at Tsumeb, it was not found below the 1st Oxidation Zone and is a species often not that well represented in Tsumeb collections. Brochantite is a copper sulphate and in this thumbnail forms a 2.4 cm tall plume of deep leafy emerald green crystals, diverging from a narrow base to 1 cm wide at the apex. Close examination of the individual crystals reveal a superb translucency with an aesthetic mix of deep green shot through with bright electric lime green. A small yet delightful Tsumeb Brochantite mounted on a labelled acrylic base (with side arm support) and from a famous Tsumeb thumbnail collection.
