For the seasoned collector of Tsumeb, myself included, it is all too easy not to give a second glance at yet another Malachite pseudomorphing after Azurite, but in this case, look again!  This small miniature is quite exquisite.  Topping the specimen are four distinct spear-shaped crystals, each to about 2 cm long, of former Azurite that is now changed to Malachite, each composed of tightly packed, stepped blades.  The Malachite is beautiful; rich and bright emerald green and with the most fabulous satin lustre; it could not be any better.  Contrasting and complimenting this are areas where the Azurite remains unaltered, with the same stepped bladed habit and of a magnificent deep inky Azure blue, verging on electric.  OK, maybe yet another Tsumeb Malachite pseudomorph, but a lovely and special one.
