Wide tabular crystals of pinkish, light chocolate brown Wulfenite are richly scattered, generally lying flat against a vuggy matrix, the latter completely hidden by an overgrowth of Calcite micro-crystals. From the Tsumeb Mine in Namibia, the Wulfenite crystals form flattened, square, tabular crystals with broad bevelled edges and reach up to 1.6 cm on edge. These have a preferential coating of micro-crystals of Calcite on their upper (display) face, giving a speckled frosted appearance. Under high magnification (around x40), many of the Calcite crystals contain a singular green inclusion, possibly Duftite. A 5 x 2.5 cm patch of slightly bluish-green granular Malachite nestles amongst the Wulfenite crystals along the display face. An unusual, interesting and aesthetic Wulfenite from Tsumeb.
