Transparent stepped rhombohedral Calcite crystals with barley sugar orange tipped edges form an interpenetrant group on a gossanous Duftite rich matrix.  Such specimens were one of the classic Calcite finds from the Tsumeb mine in the 1980's and now populate fine collections around the world.  Rhombohedral crystals to at least 3 cm on edge are developed as multiple stepped groups, all with a bright glassy lustre.  Calcite from Tsumeb can take on many habits and colours and this is one of its most famous.
