ID: CC16378
Undulating druses of bluish apple-green Cuprian Smithsonite covering an iron-stained Dolomitic matrix from the Tsumeb Mine, Oshikoto Region (formerly Otjikoto Region) in Namibia. The rounded mounds of bright, reflective, glassy Smithsonite vary in colour depending on their thickness; deeper crystals displaying a more vivid green whereas thinner crystals appear darker due to the underlying matrix. Each mound, typically 1 cm across, is a compound stack of intergrown sub-mm individual crystals. A superb and very showy Cuprian Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
