A pair of jet-black Schorl crystals, both with perfect terminations, are bridged towards their bases by finely crystallised Albite of the variety “Cleavelandite”, with embedded crystals of Topaz. From the pegmatites around the village of Shengus in the Haramosh Mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan; Gilgit-Baltistan being what was formerly named the “Northern Areas”.  The Schorl crystals measure 5.0 x 2.3 x 2.0 cm and 4.0 x 1.3 x 1.0 cm and have frosted, Mercedes-type shallow pyramidal terminations. The larger Schorl does have some damage down the “corner” of one prism face, but this faces to the back of the specimen. The primary Topaz crystal measures 1.2 x 1.2 x 0.8 cm and is a delicate gemmy pale champaign. A splendid combination of Schorl, Topaz and Albite from Shengus in Pakistan.
