A vuggy and highly porous matrix of sooty-black Chalcocite is pervaded with colour-zoned, elongated hexagonal prismatic crystals of Mimetite from the Tsumeb Mine in the Oshikoto Region (formerly recorded as Otjikoto Region) of Namibia. The Mimetite crystals are typically 4 to 10 mm long but do exceed 12 mm throughout the specimen. Only the flattish base is free from Mimetite crystals; all sides of the specimen contain deep vugs richly lined with Mimetite, as rich as the display surface. The Mimetite crystals usually begin colourless around their base upwards, unless blackened by included disseminated Chalcocite. About halfway along each crystal the colour suddenly changes to a distinct opaque lemon-yellow.  A terrific and showy Mimetite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia.
