A beautiful and fascinating pseudomorph of Calcite replacing Tarnowitzite, the plumbian variety of Aragonite. The original morphology was two broad stubby crystals joined at their base and then slightly separated in sub-parallel growth, measuring 5.2 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm and 3.7 x 2.3 x 1.8 cm.  The Calcite which has replaced the Aragonite has formed an outer shell of 1 to 2 mm rhombohedral Calcite crystals of pure snow-white and brilliant lustre, with the core filled with a coarsely granular porous mix of Calcite and some, likely, remains of the Tarnowitzite.  A choice Calcite pseudomorph from Tsumeb.
