The Frohnau mining area once in, and to the west of, the German town of Annaberg-Buchholz (Saxony) has produced a good variety of mineral species and amongst these is Fluorite.  This handsome cabinet specimen has a flat matrix of massive Fluorite totally covered with deep golden-syrup Fluorite cubes of between 1 and 1.8 cm on edge, with sharp edges, smooth faces and highly translucent.  The crystals are reflective, yet subdued due to their waxy lustre.  A superb golden-yellow fluorite from the historic mines of Saxony.
