Azurite with Malachite

ID: CC16507
Velvet-like, drusy coatings of micro-crystalline vivid blue Azurite and Malachite in various shades of green, richly cover a matrix of opaque snow-white Baryte.  The Baryte is mainly massive but does display thin blades in parts of the display face.  This old-time specimen is from the Brixlegg-Schwaz area of the Inn Valley, Tyrol, Austria; an ancient mining district with numerous mines and localities. This specimen is accompanied with a rather grand 15.0 x 13.3 cm old label, drafted in the most elegant copperplate handwriting and initialled.
