Bogdanovite with Altaite and Chalcopyrite

ID: CC16544
An unusual research, reference or systematic collector’s specimen containing the exceptionally rare species Bogdanovite with Altaite.  Bogdanovite is classed as an Au-Te-Pb-Cu-Fe sulphide despite not containing any sulphur and Altaite is a Pb telluride.  Together with Chalcopyrite these two species occur as micro-grains and patches embedded in a micro-crystalline milky Quartz vein that has been sawn flat on one side.  The back of this specimen is coated in a clear resin and accompanying this are three thin slices in preparation for making into thin sections.  From the Central Kamchatka mining district of the Aginskoe Gold deposit in Kamchatka Oblast, Russia, the type locality for Bogdanovite.
