ID: CC16700
Light peppermint to leaf green Zincolivenite crystals to 1.5 mm are richly scattered over micro-crystals of deep sapphire-azure blue Azurite at the centre of a large thumbnail sized Azurite nodule.  This quite charming specimen is from the mines close to Lavrion on the Attica Peninsula of Greece.  The capital, Athens, was built close to this mining area in ancient times as this was where the wealth of the nation originated due to its rich lead-silver mines.
