A characteristic and rich specimen of Anglesite from its type locality at Mona mine, Parys Mountain on the Isle of Anglesey, north Wales.  Sparkling pale yellow-tan Anglesite crystals all of 2 to 3 mm sit at one end of a rusty, chocolate brown gossan matrix, with dozens of smaller crystals strewn over the remaining surface.  Some of the larger Anglesite crystals towards the opposite end are almost colourless.  Under LWUV the Anglesite fluoresces reasonably bright lemon yellow.  This is a great, rich and well-priced example of Anglesite from Parys Mountain mine.  Just as background information, the original Mona mine became incorporated within the much larger Parys mine, at its prime, the biggest producer of copper in the world.  Also, in case you are unsure, Parys is pronounced Paris, as in the French capital.
