A great example of the rare lead chlorocarbonate Phosgenite from the famous Bage mine at Cromford in Derbyshire, England. Two glassy crystals are perched on the edge of a massive Galena vein with creamy-buff Baryte on opposite sides.  The main Phosgenite crystal measures approximately 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm and although incomplete, shows many well developed faces.  Sometimes these specimens were faked in Victorian times when crystals were glued to the appropriate matrix, but this is clearly genuine due to the complex growth between the Phosgenite crystals and the Galena.
