Despite Millclose mine in South Darley, Derbyshire, England, once being a prolific producer, very few good specimens are seen today.  This specimen of excellent crystallised Galena (lead sulphide), is built from stacked cubic crystals of up to 2.6 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm with overgrowths of cubic Fluorite and bright, golden Pyrite.  The grey, translucent Fluorite crystals are typically about 5 mm on edge, colour zoned and full of sulphide inclusions; the Pyrite crystals are sub-mm with a bright metallic lustre.   A great example of crystallised Galena from this classic Derbyshire locality.
