Baryte

ID: CC17014
A stunning and rare specimen of water-clear Baryte crystals from Lunehead mine, Lunedale, County Durham, England.  This former lead mine only produced a limited suite of mineral species, but occasionally good Baryte specimens were encountered, this being one.  Clear colourless tabular crystals with a slight smoky-grey appearance have grown in aligned parallel arrays and this, combined with the brilliant lustre, makes this an exceptional specimen for the location.
