A pretty miniature cluster of rounded ‘nail-head’ Calcite crystals from Stank mine close to Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria (formerly Lancashire).  The slightly milky-white crystals exhibit complex crystal development but with gently curving faces and subtle striations on the faces.  Most crystals are preferentially blushed a mottled pinkish-red by finely disseminated Hematite inclusions.  The Calcite sits on a thin botryoidal shell of Hematite.  A couple of the Calcite crystals have very minor bruises which are almost invisible.  A great miniature Stank Calcite.
