At least six blades of gemmy, bronze-clove-brown Brookite nestle amongst an Alpine-style vein Quartz from its type locality at Prenteg, a little north of Porthmadog in Gwynedd, Wales.  The veinstone is a mix of translucent milky, crystallised Quartz and etched opaque creamy Quartz with a sharp hackly texture.  The Brookite occurs as individual blades, the largest about 5 x 5 mm, developed on and in the Quartz.  A great reference specimen of Brookite from it type locality, collected in October 1981.
