This charming thumbnail Chalcocite forms a pagoda-like tower of stacked hexagonal plates measuring 1.6 cm tall.  From Pig Lode on 9 Level, Geevor mine, Pendeen, Cornwall, the crystals are sooty black although often display a most attractive metallic purple iridescence.
