Goethite Var. Stalactitic Goethite

ID: CC17140
An undulating rib of Quartz averaging 0.7 cm thick is heavily encrusted on either side with lustrous sooty-black, micro-crystalline Goethite, from the Restormel Royal Iron Mine at Lostwithiel in Cornwall.  One side is composed entirely of botryoidal Goethite and the opposite side, entirely Stalactitic Goethite.  An interesting and somewhat different example of Goethite from Restormel.
