Opaque, zingy apple-lime-green Pyromorphite crystals to 4 mm are richly scattered over a light sandy-buff surface coating on vein Quartz from the esteemed Cornish locality of Wheal Alfred, close to Hayle in the St. Erth-Gwithian district.  This mine is famous for its very fine Pyromorphite and this combination of colour and matrix is highly characteristic of Wheal Alfred.
