Cogwheel-like, angular crystals of rusty to dark chocolate-brown Goethite form excellent pseudomorphs after Marcasite over the upper surface of a Fluorite nodule. From Wapping mine, just south of Matlock Bath in Derbyshire, England, the Goethite crystals vary from around 0.5 cm to 1.5 cm and sit on colourless to light grey, translucent cubic crystals of Fluorite, typically averaging 4 mm on edge. The core of the nodule is composed of cemented granular sucrosic Fluorite of a light orange-tan.
